Requirements :

  • Basic qualifications accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a professional Nurse plus a post-basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice No R212 in the relevant specialty. Proof of current registration Grade1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in relevant speciality. Ability to work under under pressure and in a team. Strong managerial/leadership, good communication, problem-solving, conflict management and sound interpersonal skills are important.

Duties :

  • Co-ordination and provision of optimal, holistic specialized nursing care within set standards and professional framework. Manage effectively the utilization of resources (human, material, financial and service). Co-ordination of the provision of effective training and research. Provision of effective support to Nursing Service. Maintain professional Growth/ethical standards and development of self and subordinates. Work as part of multi-disciplinary team and be a team player. Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and ethical framework i.e. Acts, policies, guidelines, protocols governing the Public Service. Ensure that national core standards (Ideal Hospital realization), Batho Pele principles, Patient’s Rights and Nursing Values are upheld. Willing to work night duty.
