Requirements :
- Basic qualification accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice 425 (i.e: Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Registration as a Professional Nurse after post Community Service. Current (2023) SANC license to practice. Basic Midwifery is a requirement. Computer Literacy will be an added advantage. Good communication skills. Knowledge in infection prevention control, Waste Management Regulations and policies. Guidelines in application of clinical infection prevention control policies.
Duties :
- Assist in facilitating, coordinating and reviewing the National, Provincial and Regional legislation regarding Infection Control Protocols and also monitor the implementation there of. Assist in implementing and maintaining an effective hospital infection surveillance system in alignment with the infection control policies. Assist in developing and monitoring the implementation of continuous infection control, educate and training programmes. Review and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of clinical protocols and guidelines. Assist in developing and monitoring the implementation of continuous infection control educate and training programmes. Conduct formal and informal infection control trainings. Participate in induction and orientation programmes notifying of notifiable conditions to relevant authorities. Investigate and control outbreaks of infection. Assist in conducting infection control campaigns. Effective use of material resources and hospital budget.
