Requirements :
- Basic R 425 qualification, i.e., Diploma/Degree in nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse. Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse. Experience of working in quality management. Total quality management certificate will be an added advantage. Knowledge of relevant Nursing Legislations and National Core Standards. The candidate must also have good communication and supervisory skills. Excellent interpersonal relationship and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of waste management regulations and report writing skills.
Duties :
- Provision of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional/ legal framework. Effective utilisation of Human and Material resources. Participation in training and research. Provision of support to Nursing services. Maintain professional growth, ethical standards, and self-development. PN A3- In addition to above the candidate should perform the following duties: Develop and co-ordinate quality assurance activities and lead the quality assurance committee. Responsible for developing the hospital’s quality assurance Standard Operating Procedures in line with the NCS and guidelines. Manage quality and clinical programmes such as complaints management and serious adverse events in the institution. Ensure that quality care is maintained by performing quality based-line inspections, clinical audits, and client satisfaction surveys and develop quality improvement plans. Ensure compliance with National Core Standards by all employees. Ensure implementation of quality control. Assist with the accreditation of the hospital in accordance with the Office of Health Standard Compliance on national core standards for health establishments in South Africa. Responsible for immediately bringing any identified quality issues to the attention of the managers. Writing and presenting reports on quality. Actively support and participate in the quality management system’s training programmes. Recommend quality tools and techniques to be used in measuring hospital quality review. Attend and participate in all quality assurance meetings in the hospital, district, and province.
