Requirements :

  • Basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government notice 452 (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. O.H.S. qualification and certificate to integrated wellness programme will be an advantage. A minimum of 5 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as professional nurse with SANC in General Nursing. Must have exposure in OHS environment.

Duties :

  • Assist with Co-ordination of Occupational Health and Safety services. manage the Wellness Centre. Work in close collaboration with the wellness co-ordinator and OHS coordinator. Draw operation plans and general duties. Co-ordinate clinical audits in the organization. Set standards for the unit and formulate unit policies. Risk management. Co-ordination and management of occupational diseases and injury on duty. Implementation of Legislative framework. Identify training needs and formulate training programs for the organization. Conduct induction and orientation programme. Co-ordinate In-service education. Put measures in place to comply with quality assurance standards as well as infection control. Day to day maintenance of medical equipment and ward stock control. Facilitate performance evaluation. Comply with policies to maintain budget and fraud prevention. Cost centre management. Leave management. Collate monthly data (HIS). Monthly audit in the units. Certification in OHS. Orientation and induction regarding OHS issues. Clinical programme co-ordination.
