Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage staff of 5 professional nurses and some 10-care staff;
- Work as a team with Select Care who provide the balance of Care Staff
- Supervise all staff and implement Staff development
- Working within a budget to ensure adequate supplies for the Frail Care Centre (Linen, medical supplies, etc.)
- Work out salaries’ adjustments for overtime and off duties.
- Resident Care: Assessing changes in residents' condition whether acute or chronic and implementing appropriate interventions,
- Managing chronic conditions including dressings, catheterizations, oxygen administration, nebulization etc.,
- Administration of medication and observation of side effects; including ordering of medication
- Assessing when to refer for medical assistance and
- Implementing palliative care when appropriate.
- Ensure Clinic for Independent residents opens regularly and runs smoothly
- Liaison with families: It is Critical that the importance of liaison with family and service providers is understood.
- Responsible for report writing and ensuring administrative compliance for the Care Centre.
- Observation of Confidentiality critical.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- A qualification as a Registered Nurse. Proof of registration with Nursing Council.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role/environment
- Behavioral/ Interpersonal Skills-Incumbent should possess a passion for above objectives
- Unendorsed drivers license
- Technical knowledge and expertise relating to nursing procedures and interventions
- Ability to implement and maintain nursing services.
- Ability to work shifts (Day, Weekends)
- Able to converse & write fluently in English
