SALARY NOTCH : GRADE 1 R 383 226.00 per annum
SALARY NOTCH : GRADE 2 R 471 333.00 per annum
OTHER BENEFITS : 12% Rural Allowance, 13th Cheque, Medical Aid (Optional) and Housing Allowance (Employee must meet prescribed requirements)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
o An appropriate B degree/Diploma in General nursing and Midwifery or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
o Registration certificate with SANC in General Nurse, Midwifery and Post-Basic Midwifery & Neonatal Nursing Science.
o Proof of current registration with the SANC.
o Proof of current/previous work experience endorsed and stamped by the employer(s) must be attached.
GRADE 1:
o A minimum of 4 years appropriate / recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
GRADE 2:
o A minimum of 14 years appropriate / recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
o At least 10 years of the period referred above must be appropriate / recognizable experience after obtaining the 1- year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
o Knowledge of Public Service Policies, Acts and Regulations.
o Knowledge of code of conduct, Labour Relations, Conflict Management and negotiation skills. o Ability to function within a team.
o Skills in organizing, planning and supervising.
o Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and patients’ rights charter.
DUTIES OR KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
o Must be able to handle obstetric and emergencies and high risk conditions.
o To execute duties and functions with proficiency within prescript of applicable legislation. o Provision of quality patient care through setting of standards, policies and procedures.
o To participate in quality improvement programmes and clinical audits.
o Uphold Batho Pele and patients’ rights principles.
o Provide a safe, therapeutic environment as laid down by the Nursing act.
o Maintain accurate and complete patient records according to legal requirements.
o Exercise control over discipline, grievance and Labour relations issues.
o Manage and supervise effective utilization of all resources e.g. Human, Financial, material etc.
o Implementation and management of infection control and prevention protocols.
o Assist with performance reviews i.e. EPMDS as well as student progress reports.
o Maintain a plan to improve the quality of Nursing and health care in Labour ward.
o Formulation of theatre policies to ensure good practice.
o Ensuring the availability of the necessary basic equipment
