Enrolled Nurse

Our client, a Private Medical Centre in Pietermaritburg, KZN, is looking for suitable qualified candidates for the positon of a Enrolled Nurse with SANC
Duties & Responsibilities
- Planning carrying out of the nursing care plan as planned inder supervison of the shift leader
- Administering oral, intra - muscular parental medications under supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Observation of intravenous lines in co-ordination
- Admission and discharge of patients
- Attending to the patients hydiene needs
Basic Patient Care
- Admit patients under direct or indirect supervision of registered nurse.
- Intake and output.
- Promotion and maintenance of patient's nutritional status and elimination.
- Check intravenous infusions.
- Record results accurately (keep intake and output charts up to date).
- Prepare patient for diagnostic and nursing procedures.
- Assist the Registered Nurse with her responsibilities/nursing duties as indicated and delegated necessary.
- ICU/ High care enrolled nurse functions:
- Enrolled nurse responsible for patients delegated to her care under indirect supervision by shift leader.
- Performs full physical assessment on patient e.g. inspection, auscultation and palpitation.
- Records accurately all findings on patient's notes.
- Reports any abnormalities to shift leader/sister in charge
Equipment and supplies
- Records any surgical stock items used on billing sheets of patients
- Prevents waste and assists in preventing theft
- Knows the correct use of equipment
- Cares for and cleans equipment according to prescribed procedures
- Reports equipment needing repair or replacement to sister-in-charge
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- Minimum of 5 years as an Enrolled Nurse
- Enrolled as an Enrolled Nurse with the SANC.
- Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse and all appropriate health care legislation.
- Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
- Ability to implement and maintain standards of health care facility required from all accreditation bodies and appropriate health legislation.
- Flexibility to meet requirements of the workplace.
- Maintain good interpersonal skills / communication skills with patients, colleagues and health care team.
- Remains responsible for own and delegated actions.
- Assertive and Innovative.
